MLR – 25 mile ride

Maine Lighthouse Ride logoFor 2020, the Maine Lighthouse Ride has been renamed the Maine Lighthouse Experience and will take place the week of September 5-12, offering participants a ‘do it yourself’ flavor! We’re challenging YOU to choose your own path, distance, and experience.

To help you design your best Maine Lighthouse Experience, we provide on this page information on the 25+ mile route option. Note: there will be no ETA volunteers or staffed rest stops along this route during the Sept. 5-12 Maine Lighthouse Experience week.

Our 25+ mile ride option returns for 2020 with a new and exciting route. This ride begins by following the 6-mile paved, off-road South Portland Greenbelt from the ride start and Bug Light Lighthouse, then on to Wainwright Farms Recreational Fields. It then goes a small way on Highland Avenue, turns left on Pleasant Hill Road and proceeds to Higgins Beach. It then follows Maine’s beautiful shoreline back through Cape Elizabeth and South Portland, and finally ends back at SMCC. (Seven lighthouses are visible on this trip).
