Events on the Eastern Trail 2022

Trailwide Events:

Upcoming So. Portland-Scarborough-OOB-Saco Section Events:

  • Saturday, May 21 – Loop & Lunch Ride, Saco to South Portland and return. Meet at Mill Brook Industrial Park, in Saco, at 9:00 am, and be prepared to ride by 9:30 am. This will be a leisurely  ride on the Eastern Trail to Bug Light.  Lunch will be at the Sebago Brewery Co., which is adjacent to the trail. Ride will be approx. 30 miles but can be easily shortened by meeting the group anywhere along the trail. More information on Loop and Lunch Rides here, including how to sign up.
  • Saturday, June 4 – 5th Annual John Andrews Memorial Walk or Run, 10 am – Noon. 23 Mill Brook Road (Maine Molecular at Mill Brook Industrial Park), Saco. Go here to register. More event information here.
  • Tuesday, June 14 – Eastern Trail Full Moon Walk (Strawberry Moon), Scarborough Marsh, 9:00 – 10:15 pm. Join the Eastern Trail for a full moon walk in Scarborough Marsh.  The walks will leave from the Pine Point parking area.   • Wednesday, July 13 – Eastern Trail Full Moon Walk (Buck Moon), Scarborough Marsh, 8:45 – 10:00 pm. Join the Eastern Trail for a full moon walk in Scarborough Marsh.  The walks will leave from the Pine Point parking area.   • Thursday, August 11 – Eastern Trail Full Moon Walk (Sturgeon Moon), Scarborough Marsh, 8:00 – 9:30 pm. Join the Eastern Trail for a full moon walk in Scarborough Marsh.  The walks will leave from the Pine Point parking area. Upcoming Biddeford-Arundel-Kennebunk Section Events:

  • Saturday, June 25 – Loop & Lunch Ride, Biddeford to Kennebunk and return.  Ride will start at 9:30 am, at the rear parking lot, adjacent to the Eastern Trail, of Southern Maine Health Care, in Biddeford. Ride will be on the ET in Arundel to Kennebunk, and then along the shore in Kennebunk and return. Lunch and route TBD.  More information on Loop and Lunch Rides here, including how to sign up.
  • Eastern Trail Feasibility Study Public Meeting – held March 8, 2022. The municipalities of Saco and Biddeford, in cooperation with the Eastern Trail Alliance (ETA), Eastern Trail Management District (ETMD), Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) and VHB, held a public meeting on March 8 as part of the Eastern Trail Feasibility Study within these municipalities.  More information on that meeting can be viewed here, including the slide presentation and a meeting recording.

Upcoming Eliot, South Berwick, Berwick, North Berwick, Wells Section Events:

  • Eastern Trail Feasibility Study Public Meeting – held February 17, 2022. The municipalities of North Berwick, Wells, and Kennebunk, in cooperation with the Eastern Trail Alliance (ETA), Eastern Trail Management District (ETMD), Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) and VHB, held a virtual public meeting as part of the Eastern Trail Feasibility Study within these municipalities. Information from that meeting can be viewed here, including the slide presentation and a meeting recording.
  • No other events scheduled at this time.

Group Trail Events:

  • Lunch and Loop Rides are back for 2022. These are intended to acquaint participants with the beauty of the Eastern Trail and increase two-wheeled camaraderie, and usually range from three to five bike rides. To allow riders to enjoy Maine’s seasonal changes, ride organizers Russ Lamer and Bob LaNigra.  Go here to read about past Loop and Lunch Rides.
  • Happy people enjoying the Eastern Trail!Full Moon walks are scheduled throughout the year, often every month – walking in the summer, snowshoeing and skiing as possible in the winter. Groups will be limited in size to 25 people and masks/social distancing is required. No flashlights or pets, please.
