Trailwide Events:

  • Maine Lighthouse Ride 20 yearsMaine Lighthouse Ride —  The 20th anniversary of the Maine Lighthouse Ride is coming up! Mark your calendars for SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th. Yes, SUNDAY! Upcoming So. Portland-Scarborough-OOB-Saco Section Events:

  • Saturday, June 3 – John Andrew Memorial 5k Walk/Run, Saco.  Join us for the 6th annual John Andrews 5K Trail Run and Walk on Saturday, June 3rd beginning at 10am. Registration and Check In begins at 8:30am. The 5k, all on the Eastern Trail, begins and finishes at the end of Mill Brook Road in the Mill Brook Industrial Park.   • Saturday, June 3 – Eastern Trail Full Moon Walk (Strawberry Moon), Scarborough Marsh, 8:00 – 9:30 pm. Join the Eastern Trail for a full moon walk in Scarborough Marsh.  The walk will leave from the Pine Point parking area (138 Pine Point Road). The group will be limited to 25 people and masks/social distancing is required. The event is free but donations are welcome and appreciated! Go here to register – registration required.   • Sunday, June 4 – Loop and Lunch Ride Saco-South Portland and back.  (Note Sunday – The John Andrews 5K is being held on Saturday, June 3 so our ride is on SUNDAY). Meet at Mill Brook Industrial Park, in Saco, at 9:00 am, and be prepared to ride by 9:30 am. This will be a leisurely  ride on the Eastern Trail to Bug Light.  Lunch TBD.   • Sunday, July 2 – Eastern Trail Full Moon Walk (Buck Moon), Scarborough Marsh, 8:15 – 9:30 pm. Join the Eastern Trail for a full moon walk in Scarborough Marsh. The walk will leave from the Pine Point parking area (138 Pine Point Road). The group will be limited to 25 people and masks/social distancing is required.   • Wednesday, August 30 – Eastern Trail Full Moon Walk (Blue Moon), Scarborough Marsh, 7:30 – 9:00 pm. Join the Eastern Trail for a full moon walk in Scarborough Marsh.   • Thursday, October 5 – Bonfire & Brew event.  Hold the date for this fun event. Location and other details coming soon.
  • Saturday, October 21 – Loop and Lunch Ride Saco-Pine Point and back. The Ugly Sweater or Retro Ride—  meet in Saco, at the former turnpike exit, which is 353 North St.(Route 112) —it is opposite Lund Rd. (More complete directions will be forthcoming. Parking is no longer available at Thornton Academy.) Ride will be along the Eastern Trail to Pine Point, OOB, Camp Ellis with lunch at Cia’s in Saco. Approx. 26 miles. Upcoming Biddeford-Arundel-Kennebunk Section Events:

  • Eastern Trail parkrun, Biddeford, 9 am every Saturday (started May 6). A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it’s up to you! The event takes place at Biddeford Eastern Trail (accessible from the Southern Maine Health Care Hospital car park), Medical Center Drive, Biddeford, Maine 04005.   • Saturday, June 24 – Summer Kick Off Bike & Brew on the Eastern Trail, Scarborough Marsh, 10:30 – 2:30 pm. Our inaugural ride of the season will head north on the trail in Saco but first we’ll have to take a few streets in Biddeford and Saco to get to the off road section. We can do this safely by staying in a group and following the instructions of the ride marshals. Once we get to the trailhead behind Thornton Academy we will ride through the Saco, Old Orchard Beach, and hopefully Scarborough sections of the trail enjoying the tranquility, beauty , and safety from motor vehicles that the Eastern Trail provides us all. We will return to the start via the same route. This is a free event however, donations to the Eastern Trail are most appreciated and can be submitted during the checkout process.   • Saturday, August 12 – Loop and Lunch Ride Biddeford-Kennebunk and back.   Ride will start at 9:30 am, at the rear parking lot, adjacent to the Eastern Trail,  at Southern Maine Health Care, in Biddeford. Ride will be on the ET in Arundel to Kennebunk, and then along the shore in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and return. Lunch will be at Sebago Brewery and Restaurant. Upcoming Eliot, South Berwick, Berwick, North Berwick, Wells Section Events:

  • Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 – Loop and Lunch Ride Wells-Ogunquit and back . Meet at the Wells Amtrak Transportation Center, at 9:00 am and be prepared to ride by 9:30 am. Course will be along the Eastern Trail, on back country roads, winding our way to Ogunquit, then to Wells Beach and back. Lunch will be at Fisherman’s Catch or Hobbs Harborside. Approx. 30 miles. Group Trail Events:

  • Lunch and Loop Rides are back for 2023. These are intended to acquaint participants with the beauty of the Eastern Trail and increase two-wheeled camaraderie, and usually range from three to five bike rides. To allow riders to enjoy Maine’s seasonal changes, ride organizers Russ Lamer and Bob LaNigra.  Go here for more info on 2023 rides and to read about past Loop and Lunch Rides.
  • Happy people enjoying the Eastern Trail!Full Moon walks are scheduled throughout the year, usually every month – walking in the summer, snowshoeing and skiing as possible in the winter. Groups will be limited in size to 25 people and masks/social distancing is required. No flashlights or pets, please.
