The Eastern Trail is proud to serve as a gathering place for events that promote well-being and encourage community. Every year, the Eastern Trail brings together thousands of people — Mainers and visitors alike — to enjoy nature and recreation close to home.

Friday, March 14, 2025 – Full Moon Walk | 7:15 – 8:45 pm | Scarborough, ME
Join the Eastern Trail Alliance for a Full Moon Walk in Scarborough Marsh. Pets and flashlights are not allowed for this event to ensure guests can best appreciate the marsh and full moon. Due to limited space, advance registration is required for this free event. Click here to register.

Saturday, April 5, 2025 – Afternoon Tea Fundraiser | North Berwick, ME

Saturday, May 31, 2025 – John Andrews Memorial 5K | Saco, ME
Join us for a timed 3.1 mile run or walk along the scenic Eastern Trail in honor of our founder John Andrews, followed by an awards ceremony to celebrate and acknowledge the top finishers. Click here to learn more and register.

Saturday, September 13, 2025 – Maine Lighthouse Ride | South Portland, ME
Join us for the 22nd Annual Maine Lighthouse Ride (MLR). True to its name, MLR highlights the breathtaking views of coastal southern Maine, including multiple lighthouses, rolling terrain, and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the iconic Scarborough Marsh. MLR offers four ride lengths to challenge riders of all abilities – 25 miles, 40 miles, 62 miles, and 100 miles! Click here to learn more and register.

• Every Saturday – Eastern Trail parkrun. A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it’s up to you! Takes place every Saturday at 9:00 am at Biddeford Eastern Trail (accessible from the Southern Maine Health Care Hospital car park), Medical Center Drive, Biddeford. Go here for more details.
