Biddeford
Reported: May 6, 2025 | A major construction project on Elm Street in Biddeford is expected to impact traffic patterns in Biddeford until November 2025. The Eastern Trail Alliance has created a northbound detour for the on-road segment of the Eastern Trail impacted by this project. Southbound Eastern Trail thru traffic will not be affected, however, cyclists are encouraged to consider increased automotive congestion in the Biddeford-Saco area and stay alert and aware of their surroundings at all times. To travel northbound using the ET on-road detour, please follow these cues:
- Continue straight on Main St through the intersection with Elm St
- Left turn on Lincoln St
- Right turn on Pearl St
- Continue straight on Pearl until you reach the turnaround next to the old smoke stack
- Continue straight through the fence onto the narrow asphalt path. Look for the Eastern Trail sign on the black street light pole
- Continue along the asphalt path under the railroad tracks and turn left on Upper Falls Rd. at the Foundry Building
- Continue on Upper Falls Rd towards The Levy building and Elm St
- Right turn on Elm Street
- Continue on Elm Street across river bridge to traffic signal
- Left turn on Lincoln St at traffic signal intersection
