Events on the Eastern Trail 2026

The Eastern Trail is proud to serve as a gathering place for events that promote well-being and encourage community. Every year, the Eastern Trail brings together thousands of people — Mainers and visitors alike — to enjoy nature and recreation close to home.

Tuesday, April 14, 2026 – GapTracks: Assessing Both Wildlife and Human Use of the Eastern Trail’s GAP section, 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Since 2017, the GapTracks Project has used game cameras near the Eastern Trail and Nonesuch River in Scarborough to study how wildlife and people use this shared landscape. Join Dr. Noah Perlut and University of New England students for a presentation of key findings and insights. For more information and to register for this free event here. Friday, May 1, 2026 – Full Moon Walk through the Scarborough Marsh, 7:45 – 9:15 pm
Pine Point Parking Area, 138 Pine Point Road Scarborough. Join the Eastern Trail Alliance for a free and guided full moon walk along the Eastern Trail on the Scarborough Marsh. This event is free, but registration is required in advance – go here to register. This event is limited to 25 people. Kindly note that pets are not allowed at this event.

Saturday, May 30, 2026 – John Andrews 5k Walk/Run, 9 am
Join us for a timed 3.1 mile trail run or walk along the scenic Eastern Trail followed by an awards ceremony to celebrate and acknowledge the top finishers. The race begins and ends in the Mill Brook Industrial Park (Saco, ME). This event honors the founder of the Eastern Trail. Saturday, September 19, 2026. Registration is now open – go here to register. The 2026 event will be one week later than our typical timing due to venue availability and logistical constraints. Please join us for another unforgettable ride!

  • Every Saturday – Eastern Trail parkrun. A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it’s up to you! Takes place every Saturday at 9:00 am at Biddeford Eastern Trail (accessible from the Southern Maine Health Care Hospital car park), Medical Center Drive, Biddeford. Go here for more details.
