Peterson Sports Complex • 135 Old Blue Point Road Scarborough

The 1st annual MEND the Gap 10K was held July 1st and  sponsored by MEND Health & Wellness of Maine. MEND Health is a sports chiropractic, family-run, family-friendly rehab clinic. Led by the husband and wife team of Dr Tracey and Victor St John they are dedicated to non-surgical management of Sports and Musculoskeletal injuries.

Proceeds from this event benefited the Eastern Trail Alliance, an organization dedicated to building a 65-mile transportation and recreation greenway from Kittery to South Portland, Maine and will go directly to support the Close the Gap Campaign. The construction of this trail segment, which includes two bridges will close this gap between South Portland and Scarborough and provide 16 continuous off-road miles reaching from South Portland’s Bug Light to Downtown Saco. The cost to close this gap is $4.1 million and we are in the final stages of fundraising for this most critical project. FMI

With 22 miles currently off road, our goal is to raise awareness and funds to continue the vision of the Eastern Trail’s founder, the late John Andrews, filling in the gaps and adding more miles to the off road trail sections.

Additional donations towards the Close the Gap campaign are appreciated.

The route began and ended at Peterson Sports Complex - out and back on the scenic, Scarborough Marsh off road section of the Eastern Trail in Scarborough.
