Eastern Trail Extension Close to Completion in South Portland
April 16, 2003 - Jim Gailey, ETMD member and South Portland City Site Planner, sent a new set of pictures for the new Pleasantdale Walkway section that will eventually connect the existing terminous of the Greenbelt Walkway (at the southern end off Broadway Avenue) to the new recreation areas off Highland Road and near the Scarborough town line. Jim reports that the trail will be paved on Monday April 21st, with a binder course and final coat of paving will be laid in the following weeks. This section of trail will be formally dedicated on June 7th National Trails Day - click here for more information on the June 7 dedication ceremony.
