Marathon runner Bob LaNigra, in cooperation with Executive Director of Maine Games
Jeff Scully will host this entirely off-road race at South Portland’s Wainwright Farm
Athletic Fields. (It’s also part of the just-built Off-Road ET.) See
www.MaineGames.Org for more information and to register. First 100 to register get a
free MG-ETA T-shirt.
Ask your Council or Selectmen to support ETMD
It’s time for municipal budgets. This year money is really tight. Please ask your
councilors or selectmen to support your town’s $5K annual ET Management District
dues. If you have town meeting, please GO. The ETA does not qualify to manage
federal trail funds. That’s why we have an ETMD. With progress in Scarborough, we
have reason to go all the way. - “Never, never, never, never give up,” W. Churchill
Trails Key to Maine’s Economy?
Richard Florida, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh currently
working as a visiting scholar at the Brookings, and author of "The Rise of the Creative
Class: And How it's Transforming Work, Leisure, Community and Everyday Life." told
a Maine audience this month:
“More often than not, creative professionals choose to live in cities that have networks
of biking and hiking trails and a nice mix of galleries and museums. Florida said they
favor places that are tolerant of minorities and gays and that actively welcome diverse
populations.” Click

Overweight Kids Have “Middle-Aged Smoker Arteries”
According to an April 5th Journal Report on the American Heart Association’s website,
"The arteries of overweight children act like those of middle-aged smokers, increasing
their risk of an early heart attack or stroke. But the damage can be reversed through diet
and regular exercise. Do they need the ET?

West. ETA VP Ethan Davis, who is now coordinating the entire ride, invites you to
