Economic Impact of Trails
Sally Jacobs and the Sunrise Trail Coalition, www. Sunrise Trail.Org, presented an awesome conference on the economic impact of trails last week in Machias. Presenters told us “The Sunrise Trail means business.” Kathy Mazzuchelli, Caribou Parks and Rec Superintendent told us if we want support to remember, “A businessman's judgment is no better than his information.” Carl Knoch, Rail-to-Trail Conservancy District Manager, quoted an inn owner, who said he would not have rebuilt his inn following a fire, if the trail were not nearby. Bids have been requested to build 87 miles of the Sunrise Trail. Opening in two years.
