Eastern
Trail
Much is Needed to Build the Eastern Trail in Southern Maine.... We will build this
trail !!
What are we trying to do?
We are the Eastern Trail Alliance, working together to build a
multi-use trail resource that will run from Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Portland, Maine.
Our shared vision is bringing together the resources necessary to build this wonderful
trail. The ETA now has an office located at the Saco Parks and Rec
Community Center on Franklin Street in Saco, with the ETA office located
on the first floor. Please check out the ETA
Office Wish List page to see if you may able to donate an item that
would help us out !!
What is needed to build the trail?
We need volunteers: (see list of specific volunteer
needs further down this page).
We need members: We need the support and involvement of many people
and organizations to build and to maintain this trail. There are many exiting activities
under way now, and more to come soon. We need your support and your contributions,
both financial and otherwise.
Become a member in 2008
- Be
the first of many who will contribute to the design and building of this important natural
resource. To join, click here to print out our membership
application. Mail the completed form with your annual membership dues payment to:
Eastern Trail Alliance, P.O. Box 250, Saco, Maine 04072.
We need financial resources: We are
seeking to raise funds needed for engineering studies, trail design, construction and
other improvements. This will require many funds, and thus we are seeking funds
from individuals, corporations, foundations, and others who share our vision.
Many organizations have already contributed to the Eastern Trail Alliance.
Major organizational donors are listed on a separate
corporate donor page -

Thanks to all of these contributors who share the vision of the Eastern
Trail!
We need volunteers:
At present we need particular help with the following tasks:
Developing and submitting proposals for funding to foundations,
companies, and other sources.
Soliciting new members and involving them in the work of the ETA.
Organizing neighborhood and community support groups along the trail
route
The Eastern Trail Alliance is always looking for volunteers to help
create with ETA newsletters. The newsletter informs members and friends about
subjects such as trail progress, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities.
Volunteers should please contact:
the ETA Office.
