Eastern Trail Signage Options

At the bottom of this page is a photo of a typical Saco Bay Trails (SBT) sign kiosk. This is one good example of what could be a design for ET signage. There's also lots of work going on to define signage for Portland Trails and for the East Coast Greenway.

SBT Kiosk Advantages: Signs are stapled to a sheet of marine plywood on two
or three sides of a kiosk. Hinged Plexiglass covers protect the paper signs. As information changes, SBT volunteers are able to update the material by printing new signs with a low-cost computer printer. The kiosks are relatively stable in a woodland setting. (It takes about 5 minutes to unscrew the hinged cover and replace a sign.).  Several very skilled SBT volunteers designed and built these kiosks.
